About Me

I’m a strategist who draws from research, arts, and culture to provide brands with more expansive representations of consumers.

I can be counted on to ask “who?”, “what?”, “huh?”, and “why?” I am constantly anticipating the next question and discovering what I might be missing from an undiscovered perspective.

Let’s chat! Email me at smithq3@vcu.edu to learn more about my background and my work with Nightingale Ice Cream.

A Portfolio Guide

Ask me about the switch from mathematical economics at MIT to strategy.

Research now looks a lot different, but I still love to get lost in the process and the details. I get to push for work that matters to the people I’m trying to reach.

The Process: Behind the Insight

Ask me about being a triplet and why it’s more fun to disagree.

I learned early on that even people with the most similar backgrounds have different assumptions and experiences. I learned to question my own biases to better understand others (or better argue with my siblings). and I learned that challenging assumptions can often lead to something more interesting.

The Project: Celestial Seasonings

Ask me about my 21 years of dance experience.

I first learned to express myself through dance when I was three. and I still turn to dancing and choreographing as an avenue for creativity. I combine arts, culture, and research in my approach to strategy.
